Robert Jefferson (bishop)
Robert Jefferson (11 July 1881 - 1 January 1968) was a Canadian Anglican bishop in the mid-20th century.〔(Anglican Bishops of Ottawa )〕
Jefferson was educated at St John's College, Manitoba 〔‘JEFFERSON, Rt Rev. Robert’, Who Was Who, A & C Black, an imprint of Bloomsbury Publishing plc, 1920–2015; online edn, Oxford University Press, 2014 ; online edn, April 2014 (accessed 1 Sept 2015 )〕 and ordained in 1908.〔Crockford's Clerical Directory1951-52 p970: Oxford, OUP,1951〕 He began his ordained ministry with curacies in Edmonton and Winnipeg. He held incumbencies in Montague and Ottawa. He was a Canon at Ottawa Cathedral from 1926 to 1939 when he became Bishop of Ottawa. He resigned his See in 1954.
